Perkins V requires that every school district/division conduct a comprehensive local needs assessment (CLNA) of its CTE programs at least every two years.
What is required to be in the CLNA? The Association for Career and Technical Education identifies six criteria that include “alignment to labor market needs.” Schools must provide greater documentation than ever on how their CTE offerings align to immediate and long-term labor market projections and state definitions for “in-demand industry sectors or occupations” and “high-wage” and “high-skill” occupations.
